RENTAL OVERVIEW

114 Imperial Road

Whether you relax by the fireplace, golf or hit the slopes, there’s plenty of space and activities for everyone to enjoy year round!

Guests enter the lower level into the “Snow Room” , convenient for storing ski gear during the winter.

The second level is where the main living areas are located: the kitchen with a large window looking towards the slopes and dining area with a Franklin wood stove and seating for 7-9. When you’re not outdoors skiing, golfing, boating or hiking, the spacious living area with vaulted ceilings is a wonderful place for friends and family to gather at the wood fireplace or watch programs on the flat screen smart TV. For additional fun there is a functioning old style radio, Alexa (Echo dot), board games collected over 40 years, and of course WIFI.

From the living room you access the front deck with plenty of space and sweeping views of Lake George, the Lodge and slopes. Equipped with a gas grill, dining table seating four, adirondack chairs, built-in couch and a gas fire pit, your group can spend hours entertaining here no matter what the weather!

Where will you sleep?

*You might choose the Master Bedroom on the second level with a king bed, flat screen smart TV, plenty of closet space and a full bath. This room is bright and open, with access to the deck.

*You might want to be in The Loft, a full sized bedroom with a queen bed and full bath overlooking the living area.

* For the quietest spot, choose the Yellow Room on the lower level with a queen bed, overhead fan and easy access to the full bath across the hall.

*A family favorite is on the lower level, The Library, with a king bed, en suite half bath, wood stove, and a library of classics and contemporary literature where you can curl up and spend quiet time reading. This room is also nice for parents with small children because the two reading chairs recline and together form a twin bed.

*For overflow or last minute arrivals: there is a sofa and twin bed with trundle in the Snow Room. Guests here share the full bath (tub/shower combo) on the lower level with the Yellow Room.

All new linens. Excellent heat for the winter months. This home does not have air conditioning, but the rooms on the lower level stay cool and the upper level rooms have the use of four box fans and a pedestal fan. There is a brand new washer and dryer and a dehumidifier that keeps the lower level cool and dry.

Where will you cook?

Don’t let the galley style kitchen put you off! It’s a delicate dance, but we’ve had three cooks in there together creating meals for up to 12 people. Stainless steel appliances, dishwasher, a remodeled look, and a view out towards the slopes make meal preparation fun if a bit cozy. Make sure you check all the cabinets carefully as there is a surprising selection of cooking utensils, grills and waffle maker, large crock pot, platters and serving bowls, carafes and pitchers, kettles and french press, glasses and mugs and more. A selection of non-perishable items, spices, and teas fill one cabinet…so check this before you shop. Then there is still cabinet space and a large refrigerator for your food purchases.

The interesting HISTORY OF 114 IMPERIAL DRIVE:

The house was built in the early 1970’s by George and Helen Parke who owned the original land that Hidden Valley was built on. They lived in this house year round. The Loft was the master bedroom and they heated the house with the same Franklin that is still in the dining room. The deck and present Master bedroom were added on much later.

As Hidden Valley began to grow, George was the major real estate agent, selling his land to early homeowners. The Parkes sold 114 Imperial and built a home at the top of what is now Imperial ski slope. There are many landmarks in Hidden Valley named after them, so as you enjoy Lake George, Lake Helen and travel up the resort on Parke Drive, you can note that you are staying in THE ORIGINAL HOMESTEAD in Hidden Valley…nicely remodeled and redecorated for a more modern taste and for your comfort! (For example, recently the house received a fresh coat of paint inside and outside and new flooring and carpet!)

Create your own lasting memories in this bright mountain home where your next adventure awaits!
